Mike, Jonah and I finally got the Christmas tree up last week. We hung a total of 7 Christmas tree ornaments. Just high enough so Jonah would not grab them off. We thought we were so smart by doing this ahead of time because of all the horror stories our friends told us of babies and Christmas trees. However, we would have never thought that Jonah would be scared of the tree. When we put up the tree, he was fine. Then we put on the Christmas lights and he would not go near it. For 2 days he would not go close to it. Then last Wednesday, I told Jonah he had to get over his fear because we needed to take his Christmas pictures ASAP to send them in for cards this year. So Jonah and I spent the entire day by the tree taking pictures. It took about 40 pictures in and then we finally got a good one. Most of them are of his either frowning, or crawling away from the tree. Jonah is finally over his fear of the tree. He won't go near it. But he will sit about 15-20 feet away and look at it. It's beautiful red and green lights and my favorite angel that Mike gave me for Christmas our first year of marriage, make this 2008 a tree a memorable one. Even with it's 7 ornaments.
